KUALA LUMPUR: Two trainees from the Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM) will be representing Malaysia at the World Skills Competition (WSC) in Abu Dhabi later this year.
Their participation in the competition – to be held from 14 to 19 October – is a testament to their success and achievements at the World Skills Malaysia Competition that was held in October 2015.
The two ABM trainees are Marinsun Lanun, 21, from ABM Sabah, and Muhammad Zulkifli Sahdan, 20, from ABM Johor.
They will be representing Malaysia at the Wall & Floor Tiling, and Painting & Decorating categories respectively.
“I am confident that the representatives from Malaysia are capable of bringing back medals for their respective categories,” said Dato’ Ahmad ‘Asri Hamid, Chief Executive of Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and Chairman of ABM.
As a token of appreciation and a form of motivation, CIDB Malaysia, through CIDB Holdings, awarded RM3,000 and a Malaysian flag to the two ABM trainees during the International Construction Week (ICW) 2017, which was held from 10 to 14 April, 2017.
Held every two years, WSC is the world’s largest vocational education and skills excellence competition. For the 2017 installment, there will be representatives from 77 countries, competing in 51 categories.
